We're looking for a Backend Engineer to help build and maintain our brand new email service. You'll work closely with Site Reliability Engineers (SREs) to ensure our email infrastructure is secure, scalable, fast, and reliable. Requirements

• Proven experience in building backend systems

• Proficiency in Go

• Strong understanding of scaling and maintaining backend systems

• Ability to collaborate effectively with SREs and other team members.

• Solid understanding of containerization technologies like Docker

• Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.

• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, and load balancing

• Ability to design and implement resilient and scalable systems

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex system issues

• Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the backend infrastructure for our email service.

• Work closely with SREs to ensure system reliability and scalability.

• Implement and optimize backend systems using Go.

• Contribute to the design and architecture of the email service.

• Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues promptly.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rust, as we're using Stalwart as our mail server

• Familiarity with email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3).

• Knowledge of security best practices in email services.

• Strong experience with distributed systems, databases, and performance analysis.

• Previous experience in a similar role within a tech company.
