We're looking for an experienced open source developer and designer to support our team in building a platform-native web browser for Linux, using GTK and libadwaita.

You’ll be working alongside a small and focused team, helping us navigate the GNOME ecosystem and build a great user experience that feels native and fast.

What you'll be doing:

• Helping the team by suggesting GTK/libadwaita development best practices
• Reviewing existing code and suggesting improvements
• Contributing your experience in GNOME app development
• Providing guidance on UX and interface design

What we’re looking for:

• Strong experience with Python and/or C/C++
• GTK and libadwaita development experience
• Familiarity with GObject, GLib, and the GNOME stack
• Understanding of GNOME’s Human Interface Guidelines (HIG)
• Knowledge of modern web technologies (HTML, JS, CSS)
• Experience distributing apps via Flatpak
• A good eye for UX and UI design

Nice to have:

• WebKitGTK experience
• Knowledge of modern web technologies (HTML, JS, CSS)
• Contributions to GNOME or other upstream projects
• Experience mentoring or coaching other developers

Working conditions:

• This is a part-time consulting role. Fully remote.
